“Director Morrow?”
Morrow paused in the doorway, turning to grab the suspiciously large stack of pink ‘While You Were Out’ notes from his assistant. “Thank you,” he started to say, but stopped as he skimmed through the messages. “The SECNAV’s upset. The CIA’s deputy director demands a response. A vice- admiral. A congressman. Two different senators. FBI. And all marked urgent. You even underlined it twice here.” Morrow tapped one note with a finger.
“He was most insistent, sir.”
“I see Agent Gibbs was busy while I was stuck in that meeting.”
“Yes, sir.”
A smile ghosted Morrow’s lips. “Excellent.”
