“Hey, Nat,” Nick called from the doorway, “No need for an autopsy on this one.”
“Nick, you know something I don’t?”
“Many, many things.” He came up behind her, dropping a kiss into her hair. “But in this case I think it’ll just be easier to wait and ask him what happened rather than cutting him up.”
“You take the fun out of everything.” She sighed. “Another vampire?”
“Nope, but an old friend.”
“How old?”
“Only a hundred years or so.”
“Is that all?” Nat asked.
The corpse sprang to life with a loud gasp.
“Nat, meet Captain Jack Harkness.”
