So, tonight during dinner the kids argued who would win if Cthulhu and the Flying Spaghetti Monster ever battled it out over the control of the world.

Also posed was the question of what would happen if Cthulhu ate the Flying Spaghetti Monster and if the spaghetti would get stuck in his tentacles.

My kids are so weird.

Your kids sound great.

When not contemplating murdering them (I swear they have selective deafness when it comes to things like hearing me tell them to clean their rooms) I tend to agree

Weird and *awesome*.

Fannish kids FTW!

They both decided that Godzilla just wouldn't rate in comparison but Tokyo and random landmarks around the world would probably get stomped anway

My son knew even more about the Giant Spaghetti Monster than I did. He was all for Pastafarism and pirates, but daughter said Elder Gods would win out. *giggles*

As much as I root for the GSM, I'd have to agree with the daughter on this one.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
that led to the discussion over whether or not eating the Giant Spaghetti Monster would give Cthulhu gas or if the GSM could do something sneaky and tie up his tentacles and whatnot

I tell you this kind of stuff runs in the blood!!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
You might be onto something there *nods*

[identity profile] travels-in-time.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
If the GSM tried to tie up his tentacles, he'd get the spaghetti all tangled up in them and then...

...and then there'd be GSM/Cthulhu appendage porn in your thread before you know what hits you. And we'll ALL go to hell.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
thankfully the kids' train of thought did not go there. Probably a GOOD thing!

[identity profile] travels-in-time.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
No, that's just your perverted friends...which, yeah, is a good thing. :D

Flying Spaghetti Monster! And, hmm, that is a question.

Hee--I love your kids.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
Flying! *whoops* son would be so ashamed if he knew I mistyped it.

Hee! Well, it is a giant Flying Spaghetti Monster, so. Not far off. *g*

I have no idea (though I think your kids are cool), but now I want to drag out my Very Scary Solstice cd. (The Lovecraft Society is composed of some very strange folks... thank goodness! :-)

*hangs head* I just confessed to him.

He said, that's okay you forgot mom, when you're old that sort of thing happens.

Right now I'm thinking he's a little less cute than I did a minute ago

very strange= very good, right?

*dies laughing* (I'm older than you, I can laugh.)

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
I feel I should apologize for that!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
I just responded with- Yeah, we old people forget about all sorts of things, like remembering to offer our kids dessert.

his reply- Don't worry, I'll remind you!

*pause* I was being sarcastic

*he shouts back, digging for dessert in the kitchen* yeah, yeah.
