Actually, I lie, the mallards, weren't that bad, it was the geese that tried to kill and eat us.

Oh wow, it's people! Must run to them!

There were plenty of mallards, but the geese bit them and chased them off. One mallard family was smart and stayed in the water off the side trail

Babies follow Mama everywhere


except when Mama swam off a bit to threaten a goose that swam too close


And, why not, a picture of random turtles sunning themselves on a log.

DUCKLINGS. Even the threatening goslings are pretty cute. (Since they're not trying to nip me.)

I love the way that top turtle has his feet splayed out in back of him like that. The ones at the zoo here do that too, and it's so funny.

Geese scare me a bit. I've been run off a sidewalk by them and cornered outside my office by them when the population here was much higher some ten years ago. I kept threatening to make them into Sunday dinner but they never listened.
