It's not a surprise if you showed us that exact scene in ALL THE PROMOS.

MW, I love you, but damn. I get that trying to show you are under the influence of a drug is hard, but... the directing for these scenes and the writing isn't up to par.

Tony's messy hair is adorable though.

Oh goody, more Stupid!Tony and Smug!McGee. I missed that.

And I love how they don't acknowledge the team used to be 2 people and 3 also. There wasn't always four people in the field team.

And maybe Tony should pick since HE'S THE SENIOR AGENT, McGEE?

Awww, Tony's description of Ducky was kind of cute.

And crushing the hand of the person who is interviewing you is *such* a good idea.

*giggles* Gibbs made the girl cry.

This Ziva's not replaceable crap is annoying me. Remember Kate, anyone?

And why are none of the people they're interviewing actually come from NCIS? Why from all the outside agencies?

Overall not shocking or anything though.

The coming attractions pissed me off though. Ziva's still pissed off? *grumbles*

On Kate... He did say that he lost their fourth and that Ziva was the replacement. So he started out by calling Kate their fourth. Then it switched later and he was talking about Ziva as the fourth and not the replacement... I liked how it started before the switch over.

They did the same thing with the promos for S5 openers. It annoyed the crap out of me.

Good point about the replacement aspect.

I didn't find it *startling* but I hadn't expected it at all. SB looked VERY young like that

that's what the Gah was from.... wasn't expecting it.

But I did like Tony and McGee having dinner together.

I assumed it was. And i like how they're showing Tony and Tim more as friends. It's sweet and a nice progression of their characters

Someone *has* to use that in a fic!

yeah... the tony/tim interaction in this has been good.... and a few gibbs/tony moments.

I think I'll like parts but not the whole again like last season.

Shoulder Holster!!! That's what it was about him in that scene!!!! Shoulder Holster is made of win.

I'll settle for that. Especially if the parts are easier to find than they were last year. Last year was not good overall, plot or moment-wise

There were some good moments... but nothing 'wow'...

I did like that Tony was so trusting that Gibbs had his six with those super ninja sniper skills. I do want to know if Gibbs can aperate like HP characters because of how he made it from that hill top to kill the bad guy in the hallway....

I liked it. I didn't see any promos. Probably because this is the first time I've watched CBS in years.

Yeah, Tony's trust in Gibbs wins out.

And overall, not as bad as I'd feared. But what did you think of the promo?

It was fine. Neither here nor there. You're probably better off not having seen the promos

No promos on my end either - but CBS switches to Global when they have shared programming, so Canadians often get different or no previews.

I actually really enjoyed this episode until Ziva came back. I don't know if it's actually because I dislike Ziva or I dislike that they hint and hint about people dying and never kill them.

Nice to see them putting MW to good use again, though. More acting for Tony!

I also quite enjoyed NCIS:LA. Though Callen could not possibly have a more angsty backstory if he tried. If it doesn't out angst Gibbs' backstory, it sure as hell ties.

Also, LL Cool J is pretty.

The promos had a short snippet between Ziva and Abby that implied Ziva was still pissed at Tony for killing Rivkin *blech*

LL Cool J and Chris Odonnel are both very pretty

Promo... hmmm.... I'll just keep fearing the worst and hope it turns out better than I fear.? Yeah?

LL Cool J is unfairly pretty, this is truth.

The thing with Gibbs' angsty backstory is that it was pretty much designed to bring the angst. Don't get me wrong, I heart the manpain, but I don't necessarily think it's the same thing with Callen. I mean, I'll admit I found him kind of fascinating since he first showed up, but in his case I think the backstory supports his character, and doesn't necessarily have to be a source of ongoing angst - it's rare that a TV character is given a potentially dramatic background that isn't used to the hilt, but it does happen. I think that this is a guy who has spent so much time being who he needs to be for any given situation that who he outside of that is a little shaky, and I think he was probably that way long before he started working for NCIS.

But like I said, I'm a bit fascinated.

I'm also intrigued by Callen's backstory. The way some things have been worded- he uses G. because 'they never told him what G stands for"? It's all really interesting- does he not know who he is? He's never gotten a birthday card? He moves all the time and has next to no stuff?

There are some issues with that. Paychecks and filing taxes and W-2s and whatnot need names and addresses. But, still. I want to see how it pans out.
