As an FYI an HD version of the pilot for "Stargate Universe" is currently free on itunes (in the US anyway, I don't know about elsewhere) just in case anyone has a burning desire to see it.

Rating are being touted as 'the best ratings for Stargate since the S2 Atlantis premiere!' 2.35 total viewers is the number I've heard. Not that great for the $1 million episode price tag!

2.35 million total viewers along with a 1.7 HH rating, 1.32 million Adults 25-54, and 1.12 million Adults 18-49 during its two-hour debut episode from 9-11PM (ET/PT).

it'll be really interesting to see how the numbers stack up 3 or 4 episodes into it. A LOT of people tuned in solely because it was the premeire. But unless they were hooked they won't be randomly tuning in several weeks from now

Yep. There will be those who will be drawn to it because they think they're supposed to be. Either because it's Stargate or because it's OMG!EDGY!, but I don't think they can support a show on their own.

the majority of the newspaper/blog/whatnot reviews I saw seemed to be fairly positive, but 90% of the fan ones ranged from extremely negative to *meh*. Not a good sign.

Now, if they listen to the fans, and adjust accordingly, they can get the audience, but hey. These are the Boyz from Bridge... I doubt they could adjust anything that isn't in their shorts.
