Toshiko never would have thought he could be like this. 

The Captain Jack Harkness she knew was a man who had the weight of the world on his shoulders, a man of power and secrets.

He was not a man who would do... this...

“Now would Mister Fluffy Bunnykins like one lump or two?”

Her Captain, sitting on a chair so tiny his knees were nearly past his ears, was pouring tea for three stuffed animals and a little girl who had been inconsolable only an hour before. 

“And Madame Bearbear?  Oh, no sugar for you?  Watching your figure?  Well, if you must.”

But somehow he’d organized this impromptu tea party and gotten her to stop crying and smile.

“Sir Wobble Bobble, you don’t want any tea?  Are you sure?  It’s quite good, if I do say so myself.”

The tiara he’d put on his head teetered dangerously as he leaned over the table to reach little Jamie’s cup.

“And my favorite Princess?  I suspect a dainty fair maiden like yourself would like two lumps...”

And then Jamie giggled, such an innocently joyful sound.

Toshiko, watching the tea party unfold couldn’t help but giggle as well.  That’s when Jack looked up, meeting her eyes.  He smiled at her, and her heart melted.
