If you forget to put the coffee grinds in you coffee maker it doesn't manage to magically make you coffee anyway. All you get is hot water. Which is not the same.

Not the same at all.

Considering that making coffee requires three things (coffee, water, heat) it's amazing how often I can screw that up. *pets you*

I remembered to both plug it in AND turn it on. It's not fair it's this complicated in the morning. It should be psychic and do it all for you.

It should be!

My lesson for the morning is this: if you want your clothes to get dry, it helps to turn the dryer on.

oooh, hey, moving the clothes to the dryer. That's a good plan. I should go do that.

*headdesk*

Oh, fail.

*hugs*

I hate mornings like that.

Mornings are evil. They should be banned. Or at least not be allowed without adequate caffeination and pastries

Absolutely.

And might i make a suggestion for the future?

Prepare the coffee pot at night.

That way in the morning all you have to do is stumble into the kitchen and hit the switch.

I put mine in the dryer, put it on the right setting, cleaned the lint filter, and. Walked off. *facepalm*

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2011-08-21 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Every time I've tried preparing it early I wind up forgetting I hadn't planned on making it then and turn it on and drink it all

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2011-08-21 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I've done that too. More times than I can count

Oh.

um. oops? :D

Coffee is evil like that.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2011-08-21 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
But oh so tasty

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2011-08-21 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh noes.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2011-08-21 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I dumped the water out and made actual coffee with grinds and everything. Things are much better now

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2011-08-21 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
That is a good thing indeed.

[identity profile] adafrog.livejournal.com 2011-08-21 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
It won't automatically make coffee? It's supposed to remember those minor details for you. :D

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2011-08-22 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
If only this were true :)

I prepare my coffee pot at night, too. But the only time I ever make coffee is in the morning, so it's hard for me to make a mistake and think I was going to drink the coffee that night.

When I was growing up, my dad invested in a coffeepot with a timer so he could prep it at night, set it, and it would have his coffee made fresh for him when he woke up. Now the timer is broken, so he makes the coffee at night, lets it sit in the carafe (an insulated one) and then reheats it in the morning. That's how hard it is to successfully make coffee upon rising, he'd rather reheat it!

That's actually pretty brilliant of him! :)

I've had days like that. *HUGS*

One of the advantages of only having an espresso maker is that there is a much shorter interval to realize one's mistake and rectify it. But when I've done that it means I took the little basket and basket holder and put it into the machine empty. THAT takes talent.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh dear. *pets* I imagine I'd do something like that
