Dreams That Shatter

Title: Dreams That Shatter
Pairing/Warning/Rating: Jack/?, none, rated PG-13 for violence
Word Count: 100
Summary: Jack seeks justice for a crime.
Author's Note: Dark!fic written for [profile] fandom_me, inspired by the song "All We Are."

His lover’s blood mixed with the rain, swept away in rivulets meandering down the dark alley.  They’d been laughing when they’d snuck off the street, anxious to steal a moment’s kiss before meeting up with the others.  But then, out of nowhere, they were attacked.

Jack had pulled his gun, but not in time.  But it was out now, and damn it, he was going to have his revenge.

Jack kept firing until all the bullets were spent and the chamber clicked empty.   He calmly reloaded and began firing again, the mugger’s body jerking as each bullet hit their target.

Woah. That is vivid and intense. And dark. ::shiver::

I like very much.

Glad it's not too much, in yesterday's meme [livejournal.com profile] unfeathered and [livejournal.com profile] morgynleri_fic mentioned wanting something dark and Becky and I had been discussing the song awhile back and it clicked.

Wow! Very dark.

I can see a time in his life when Jack would totally do that (reload the cylinder and empty it a second time).

Ooooh, yes - you are very good at dark stuff!

This is deliciously shiver-inducing.

And thanks for getting me to take a look at writing dark again. :)

Ouch! You definitely got dark there. Very uncomfortable but still rings true.

sorry, but glad it rang true for you

The re-loading really, really, got me. I mean the whole thing, but the reloading in particular, just. Yeah.

*eg* glad it hit home!

Oh dark- and not Jack now- but yes - one day I can see him being in that place...

I think Jack could have the ability to be horribly dark, if the right opportunity presented itself

Ooh, yeah, that's definitely dark and shivery. ...You do that very well. I'm always impressed by that, actually, that you can write funny cracky stuff, AND things like this.

*bows* and *blushes* Thanks!

I happily wear the schizophrenic writer's crown for that.
