I can’t hear their voices. 

Chained up like an animal by the Master, it is thoughts of my team that gets me through the tough times.  I can picture them all.  Ianto in his crisp suits.  Owen in his doctor’s garb.  Tosh, eyebrows furrowed, as she solved some problem.  Gwen, as she looked the day she discovered us, that day in the rain.

I remember times we laughed together.  And that we would spend hours dissecting a case, or each other’s lives.  But I can’t remember their voices. 

If the Doctor’s plan works I’ll listen harder.  I won’t forget again.

I always wondered why the Master didn't scoop up the TW team and use them to torment Jack with. Unless he didn't think Jack actually cared enough.

Maybe they died on the Himalayian trip before he thought to do it? No idea. Unless canon tells us we cant know what the Master did to Jack during that year that never was.

sorry for the gut punch! I've often wondered about the year that wasn't too. Even if he somehow knew the Doctor's plans and that the year would be rewritten... a year of being a prisoner? Of being chained or tortured or ignored? That's gotta be tough on a person. (And I have a sinking suspicion RTD's going to completely ignore it)

We'll always have the fanfic of the Year. Even if the whole thing kind of confuses me (easy enough to do...).

This was a lovely little fic. And poor Jack, I can so see why he would want a permanent death, especially during that year. At least he had the memories, even if that does make it *more*, rather than less, painful sometimes.

Besides, this gave me the chance to use my shiney new icon.
