worst month - May (1 fic, 208 words)

In general, I wrote nothing overly long (last year had a 14k and 7k fic, this year the longest was a 4k but nothing else was over 2k) so even though I wrote exactly double the number of stories, the word count was only 2k more.

5 vs 2 vs 2 vs 2 vs 9 vs 8 NonJack Doctor Who
17 vs 10 vs 11 vs 5 vs 26 vs 22 crossovers (not counting within whoverse)

Random things:
Jack Harkness went from basically being my entire fandom to barely being a footnote to my writing.
NCIS and SGA are no longer on my fannish radar while SPN is barely a blip.
Sherlock Holmes is a huge fandom for me, but that is significantly due to [livejournal.com profile] watsons_woes.
I think I should just embrace the fact 95% of my writing output is due to challenges, exchanges and comment-memes, it's unlikely to ever change.

Look at all that fiiic. I should dive in.

And comm related fic is always the best and most fun.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2014-01-05 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
It really is. I love comms that run challenges and things, it really help me actually get words down on metaphorical paper as opposed to just letting them swirl about in my head.

[identity profile] awanderingbard.livejournal.com 2014-01-05 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Congrats! That's a nice list there, lady! You've doubled your number of stories since last year. Well done!

I think I should just embrace the fact 95% of my writing output is due to challenges, exchanges and comment-memes, it's unlikely to ever change.

I write so much better from prompts than anything else. I feel like there's just so much out there to write about that it's much easier when you have a prompt to narrow it down.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2014-01-05 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm a little boggled by the doubling fact. O.o

Prompts are just SO helpful, aren't they?

[identity profile] nakeisha.livejournal.com 2014-01-06 10:41 am (UTC)(link)
That's excellent going! Congrats on a jolly good year.

I may have noticed the Sherlock Holmes obsession as I was looking through the list, only may, of course *g*

Well done you!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2014-01-06 05:33 pm (UTC)(link)
That is because you are observant! (In all fairness I think all but four were due to watsons_woes and it's July challenge thing)

[identity profile] rustydog.livejournal.com 2014-01-06 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
A.ma.zing.

And yay stats! I love looking at them.

I think I should just embrace the fact 95% of my writing output is due to challenges, exchanges and comment-memes, it's unlikely to ever change.

Nothing at all wrong with that!
