Jack tried not to listen to Tosh on the phone with her family.  He remembered her telling him about her grandfather’s birthday party the day they got trapped in 1941.  He’d joked that she had a good excuse for missing it... but he’d been jealous.  She had family, generations of family to gather together to celebrate and take pride in their customs.  What did he have?  Heritage, heirlooms, traditions, beliefs... They were thing passed down to you from generation to generation...  Here, he predated all those things his family had believed in by tens of thousands of years.  He had nothing.

Jack awoke with a gasp, as always, the huge tear through his shirt the only sign remaining of his most recent death. But there was something... something had happened while he was dying or maybe even while he was dead.... It was the guilty look on Ianto's face that made him realize what it was...

"I don't remember CPR involving that much tongue." Jack commented, laughing as Ianto flushed scarlett.
