Can't Catch Me

Title: Can't Catch Me
Pairing/Warning/Rating: NCIS fandom, no pairings, rated G
Word Count: 100
Summary: A suspect tries to get away.
Author's Note: Written for the [livejournal.com profile] ncisdrabble100  challenge: satisfaction

When he saw them coming he started to run, even before one of them yelled “NCIS!”  He heard footsteps thundering behind him, but he was too quick.  He darted down an alley, then cut through a mini-mart and slowed to a walk once he hit the busy sidewalk.  He’d lost them.  No stupid cop, Navy or otherwise, would catch him.

He rounded the corner and plowed straight into a fist.  Momentarily stunned, he fell backwards.  Looking up he saw a silver haired man dangling handcuffs.  “You’re under arrest,” the man said, with a smug, satisfied look on his face.

Bastard.

*giggles* So Gibbs like!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
Can't fault Gibbs' style, right? Glad you liked it!

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 10:32 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, Gibbs, you sneaky bastard! :D

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Gibbs+sneaky bastard are synonymous, aren't they?

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha, yes! In the dictionary, next to "sneaky bastard" there's a picture of Gibbs :D

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
it's what his second 'B' is for after all!

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Only without the sneaky part of it all :D

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
true true

[identity profile] nakeisha.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 11:23 am (UTC)(link)
Very good indeed.

I can see that look on Gibbs's face.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! Gotta love that smile of Gibbs, right?

[identity profile] nakeisha.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Most definitely!

[identity profile] mad-jaks.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Gibbs is sneaky like that.
Nice change to see it from the *wrong* side of the law :D

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I love Gibbs' sneaky side! :)

[identity profile] mad-jaks.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)
He's like all good coppers everywhere.
Cue Gibbs, walking purposefully along:

I'll just walk around this corner... and then this one... no need to wear myself out running - these old bones of mine aren't as young as they were... Leave that to Zeva, she likes running.

Right, now if I get my cuffs out ready, and raise my hand about YAY high and count to thr-

Oh, he was a bit quicker than I thought he'd be...

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
dances with you Image

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee. Lesson learned? Gibbs is so not your average "stupid cop".

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
don't call him stupid and don't call him sir!

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
And don't even think about running.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
that's nearly as bad as spilling his coffee

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
neither are things you want to do if you value your life

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-15 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
although, if Tony were there to chase me, I might run. I'd let him catch me, of course... after a bit, when we're both sweaty and breathing hard

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
*snort* Did I ever mention that I like the way you think?

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
*attempts to look all innocent* Somehow, I thought you might appreciate that line of reasoning

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
you've let a thing or two slip now and again

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
I think it's still a bit crooked there...

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
Crooked? I've resorted to duct tape, now.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
*nods* any tool can be the right tool!

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
As long as it's, you know, covering the horns...

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
the horns are just to keep the halo in place, right?

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
or that's the story anyway...

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-09-16 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm certainly sticking to it.

[identity profile] ayankha.livejournal.com 2010-12-27 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
i'm going thru and rereading all your old fics b/c i'm bored and at work.... this one makes me think what if Neal Caffrey from White Collar got caught by NCIS instead of the FBI... do you think Gibbs would be able to handle both Neal and Tony?

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2010-12-27 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure Gibbs could have handled Tony and Neal, Neal's Rat Pack stylings goes against most of what Gibbs knows and is comfortable with
