Ship-Shape

Title: Ship-Shape
Pairing/Warning/Rating: Jack/Nine, rated PG
Word Count: 150
Summary:  The Doctor checks on Jack shortly after he comes to stay on the TARDIS.
Author's Note:  Written for [livejournal.com profile] taffimai's prompt.  Okay, I lied when I said these would be drabbles *shrugs*
Author's Note#2: Now with a remix!  I Love A Man In Uniform by [livejournal.com profile] greenapple

Eventually the Doctor located Jack in the wardrobe room.  He paused in the doorway, an amused smile on his face, watching the way Jack carefully eyed all the clothing.  A brush of his fingers here, a swish of fabric there, this was obviously not a man who would settle on wearing just anything.

“Everything in your room ship-shape then, Captain?”

Jack practically jumped at the unexpected intrusion.  “Doctor!  Oh yes, it’s fine.  In fact, it’s great.  I just thought I’d take up your offer of a change of clothes.  Can’t live in these threads forever.”  He gestured to his uniform.  “If that’s all right?”

“Sure.  See anything you like?”

Jack walked over to the Doctor and grinned.  “Oh, yes.”  He stroked the Doctor’s leather jacket gently before grabbing a fistful in both hands.  “You could say that,” he said as he pulled the Doctor into a deep and passionate kiss.

I can only hope they see the error of their ways, eventually, and release a new edition or something with that scene included.

I would buy the whole damn season again (at bloody $99 again) to get that scene

I'd probably just wait for it to show up on-line, as it almost inevitably would.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-13 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
yours is a much better idea

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-07-13 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
What can I say? Being in college teaches you these things.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-13 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
I tend to forget about all the lovely things available through LJ

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-07-13 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
I occasionally do, too. I'll be flailing over how long it's going to take for me to acquire something and then I'll suddenly remember, "oh, wait...I can get that right now through LJ."

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-13 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I hadn't discovered that when TW S1 aired. Oh boy, was I happy at how different (and much easier) acquiring S2 was!

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-07-13 03:42 pm (UTC)(link)
TW S1 is actually how I discovered all this stuff to begin.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-13 03:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I had been on a TW yahoo group and at the very end of the season (which I'd been watching via youtube) someone linked a discussion to the torch_wood comm and then, from there, I learned all the wonders LJ had to offer (although some are rather well hidden!)

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-07-13 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't get into TW until awhile after the first season aired, so I went through a variety of different avenues before I finally hit a dead end and inquired over at one of the Who comms on LJ. From there, most of the stuff I've found has been through my f-list. Some of it is definitely well hidden.

as it needs to be sometimes, but that makes it hard, because sometimes you don't know it even exists you you didn't think of looking for it

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-07-13 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly. It's kind of funny, now, to realize that it wasn't long ago I watched most of this stuff through Netflix.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-13 04:14 pm (UTC)(link)
♥ netflix. It's still great for getting the commentary tracks and whatnot

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-07-13 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
It really is. And those obscure, hard to find movies.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-13 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
or TV shows from ages ago that no one cares about here.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-07-13 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly (damn internet, not caring).

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-13 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
and double damn the companies that DON'T put the shows out on DVD. *grumbles a lot* There are some I'm dying to see again, but they haven't been released!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-13 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Have you ever seen "The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne"? They refuse to release it even though it's the most interesting mishmash of steampunk and scifi and adventure I've seen in ages

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-07-13 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I've only heard of it, never seen it. I'm told I should if I ever can.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-13 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes! You absolutely should. It's next to impossible to find anywhere unfortunately. Scifi channel showed it, but never repeated it. And it's never on any of the comms or other places where you can find shows

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-07-13 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I bet it's out on some torrent site...damn torrents.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-13 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe, I never looked there (torrents scare me a little)

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-07-13 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
My computer does not like them.
