Uh-oh

Title: Uh-oh
Pairing/Rating/Warning: none, rated G
Word Count: 100
Summary: There's something neither Owen nor Ianto want to tell Jack....
Author's Note:  Some silliness written for [profile] jadesfire2808

“You tell him.”  Owen shoved the bundle at Ianto.

“You did it.”  Ianto pushed it back.

“But he won’t kill you.”  Owen replied, worriedly.

“He won’t kill you.  Perhaps maim, but not kill.”

“It’ll be better, coming from you.”  Owen pressed the bundle into Ianto’s hands.

‘Either way, he won’t be happy.”  Ianto sighed.

Jack walked in.  “Who won’t be happy?”

“Jack!”  They yelled, the bundle dropping to the floor.

Jack eyed the bundle.  “Is that pile of rags my greatcoat?”  His question careful, deliberate.

Owen and Ianto nodded guiltily.

Jack shrugged.  “There’s a whole box of them in storage.”

Well, Jack does intimidate him just a tad...

He does, which is so interesting. I think Owen tries to act cool about it most of the time but he clearly defers to Jack. (Until he reaches the end of his rope.) Man I'd like to know more about that backstory.

I think Owen's a little scared by how comfortable Jack is in his own skin (does that makes sense?)

It does make sense, and its an interesting observation. I'm going to keep that in mind.

I tend to think that Owen wants Jack's approval more than he cares to admit, and actually those two things could play into each other.

*phew* I actually made sense... scary!

In a lot of ways I think EoD played out like it did because of the Owen/Jack dynamic. Owen just expected Jack to fix things (His line "what are you gonna do?" kind of suggests that) and the final straw in the team's uprising was Owen not getting the approval he was seeking from Jack.
