Abby shifted slightly.
“Stop it.” Tony swatted her gently on the head with a marker.
“I want to see how it’s coming!”
“Would you ask Rembrandt to see an unfinished work? Michelangelo? Da Vinci?”
“But...”
“You expect different from the great DiNozzo?”
“Tony!”
“Hold still or it’ll get smudged.”
Abby sighed. “You almost finished? It’s tickly and driving me insane.”
“That’ll be a short trip. Lucky for you I’m just about done,” Tony confirmed.
“I get to do you next?”
“Yep. Oops,” Tony said as the orange marker rolled across the floor. “Grab that will you?”
She slapped the escaping marker and pushed it back in his direction. “And I can draw anything I want?”
“Long as my suit’ll cover it, yeah.”
“Then look out, Tonyboy. I’m going to have some fun with you!”
“You make that sound so dirty.” He laughed. “Just one more squiggle and voilà!”
“Oooh!” She jumped to her feet, lifting up her shirt and trying to get a good look at her back. “I can’t see. Damn it, I need a mirror!”
“Sorry Abs, not too many mirrors in elevators these days.”
“Well, then describe it.” She stuck a finger inches from his face. “And I better like it or you will live to regret it.”
“Well, we didn’t have all the colors I needed. And I had to work around your tattoo...”
“DiNozzo,” she growled.
“It’s the sky over the ocean- when the sun’s just gone down. I worked your cross in between the stars.” His tone was dreamy and soft. “But if you don’t like it we can wash it off. Even permanent markers are only temporary. Rubbing alcohol or something should remove it.”
“Sounds beautiful, Tony.” Just then the power came on. She grabbed up the markers. “Next time, you’re the canvas!”
