Atlantis talked to Sheppard.
Oh, not in the specific ‘The wiring is about to short out in the bio-labs so you might want to replace it’ kind of way; it was more along the lines of the niggly, vague sensation in the back of the mind variety that left him wandering around only to find himself down in the bio-labs without any clear idea why he’d gone there or what it was he was supposed to do. Sheppard had learned early on not to try to explain to anyone else why he’d suddenly appear somewhere only to have sparks and smoke and chaos follow in his wake.
Without the obvious signs like smoke or power outages or Rodney’s blabbering Sheppard couldn’t always figure out what was the underlying reason drawing him to one place or another. He’d always try though; he felt he owed Atlantis that. That’s why, when he found himself at the top of one of the outlying towers at some ungodly hour of the morning, he hung around. He tested the strength of the balcony, checked the door controls, even radioed in to find out if the sensors were showing anything wonky.
But there was nothing.
So he waited. As he stood there the sun came up, peeking out over the horizon. Streaks of orange and gold snaked across the sky, interspersed by slashes of lightning from a far off storm. Sheppard watched the colors bloom, blending into to one another, dancing with the storm as night became day.
Eventually, Sheppard made his way off the balcony. He paused in the doorway, stroking it once. “Thanks,” he whispered. “It was beautiful."

Otters are even better :D
I was all fired up to write this morning but I luxuriated in reading instead, and then I FELL ASLEEP for an hour this afternoon, and now I want to write again but I don't think I'll get a chance until a lot later on today.

It was very relaxing. I'd almost forgotten how that felt.

Fun is Definitely what DS was for me this morning - I was slightly surprised there was so much romance going on. I mean yes it was a kissing 'meme' so not entirely unexpected but- yeah, a lot of fun :D
