Wish list thingy

as seen on my flist...

Wishlist Instructions:

Step One
Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two
Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals, or holiday_wishes) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

So here goes:

The harder requests:

1) Artwork for one of my stories! I am in absolute awe of people with that kind of talent and in love with the art I got for my bigbang and what _medley_ made me for my SGA/Jack story. Any other art would be adored and appreciated!

2) Icons! First a very specific request- there is a scene  in NCIS S3 E8 "Under Covers" where Tony jumps on the bed in his boxers. I'd love it turned into a *happy dance* icon (I've seen a similar one out there in LJland, but the words cover his *ahem* assets and what's the point of that?)

3) Other icons- Using Tony, Jack Harkness, John Sheppard or Dean Winchester- any of the following ideas made into icons: hides/hiding, so embarrassed, tired/ *iz ded*, giggling or *hee*, crazy... or anything else really. Anytime I use an icon made especially for me it makes me so bouncy it's almost embarrassing.

4) Write me something.  No real requests, anything in my main fandoms that's light hearted or fun- just an ordinary day with the Winchester boys, or Sheppard dealing with a caffeine-less Rodney or Jack sighing over the latest team craziness or Tony having a good day... anything.

5) Or, if there's been something teasing the back of your mind, ask me to write you something!  Some of the best things I've written are from requests.  Perhaps you would like to see something more in one of my verses?  More of Jack in Atlantis or broken!Tony from Gyre!verse or what have you.   Whatever.  It can't hurt to ask, although I make no promises it'll get written.

Three super easy requests that anyone can do:

First- Click this link.

The Animal Rescue Site

Then click the big ol' "click here to give- it's free" button. Congrats! You just helped feed rescue animals! And if you click the tabs along the top you can help feed starving kids, provide mammograms, help with health care costs, get books to kids and save the rainforest.

See, wasn't that easy?

Want to be a super special, amazingly excellent person? Post the link in your LJ too.

Second- Next time you watch a video or read a story give feedback. Even if all you say was you enjoyed it. Even if all you do is leave a smiley face. Leave a comment of some kind.  The author/vidder will love you for it.

And if you really want to do a wonderfully awesome wowsaworthy thing? Go into your favorites, memories, etc- Is there something you watch whenever you need a laugh? Read whenever you need a good cry? Rec to people who ask where to find the best X? Go leave a comment telling the author/vidder that. You'll make their day, heck probably their week! And knowing you've done something like that will make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

And lastly?  Go post a list of your own!  Pretty please with sugar on top?

It still, in the weird illogical part of my brain, falls under the category of "attention," which I get nervous about. But like I said, I don't think about it that way from the other direction - I'm glad when my friends post lists! - so I need to whallop the illogical part. I might be able to use the fact that it's actually ON your list. *g*

*tries to hush that part of your brain*

I could only post if I asked for free things from people- no actual monetary gift sort of things. That fell into that same category for me. Mostly I was hoping people would do the last three things. Click, comment and post their own. But, doing any is good in my book!
