The Baby Shower

Title: The Baby Shower
Pairing/Rating/Warning: none, rated G
Word Count: 100
Summary: Jack and Ianto discuss the idea of throwing a baby shower
Author's Note: Written for [profile] fandom_me  who wanted a story where Jack was celebrating something, I hope planning the celebration instead is okay...

“A baby shower, Ianto, that’s what we need to do!  We need to throw her a baby shower!”

“A baby shower, Sir?”

“Sure!  Why not?  She’d love it.  Everyone loves a baby shower!”

“But... a baby shower?”

“Come on, it’ll be fun.  It’ll give us a chance to spruce up the place...”

“Spruce up, Sir?”

“We’ll scrub this place till it shines!  Maybe hang some decorations...”

“Decorations, Sir?”

“Of course decorations!  Baby showers need decorations!  It’s tradition!!”

“I wasn’t aware that there were traditions regarding pterodactyls, Sir”

“Very funny.  You can be such a spoilsport, Ianto.”

“Just being practical, Sir.”

I AM SPEEDY!

After I wrote it I realized you asked for the celebration, not the planning, Oops.

I'm still not sure how I came up with the idea for this.. my mind scares me a bit sometimes

Jack's celebrating! It's good!

And I like your brain.

Thanks! *sigh* the anonymous flaming commenter is back. Is there a way to prevent people from leaving anonymous comments?

Oh, that's a lot of fun! You two are having a great time, aren't you? :-)

The only thing I'm worried about is how Myfanwy got pregnant???? *g*

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2007-11-06 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
errr... good point... maybe she found a "friend?"

http://www.livejournal.com/manage/comments/

Go there, and change settings to registered users only, and turn on IP address log on the same page - to everyone, just in case. Then, if they do comment again, you can block them (they offer you an option with the comment that way)

Maybe another one got washed through the Rift - maybe there are two of them now! :-)

Did it, thanks. Assuming it's the same person they left close to 20 comments on my stories within the last 24 hours or so. I erase them as soon as I find them, but still *ouch* this one was mild at least...

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2007-11-06 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
stranger things have happened, right?

[identity profile] fandom-me.livejournal.com 2007-11-06 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
It stings - it can't not stings. And seriously, what a royal ASS. Who the hell does that - Well, nevermind, clearly some anonymous dick without a life.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2007-11-06 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
One was a five paragraph dissertation! I don't understand, if you don't like me as an author. don't read my stuff! Especially the timestamp drabbles and this one which weren't even posted anywhere. *sigh*

[identity profile] fandom-me.livejournal.com 2007-11-06 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
It is really, really, strange that you're being singled out like that. Hopefully the disabling of anon comments will make them stop - at the very least you'll be able to figure out who they are so you can smack them into next week.

Criticism is one thing. Being nasty is another. They're firmly on the side of nasty.

[identity profile] taffimai.livejournal.com 2007-11-06 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I was talking to someone else on IM who's also been getting nasty anon comments. So it doesn't look like you're the only one, if that helps at all.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2007-11-06 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
not sure how/why they latched onto me. The first flame was on my vidfic 'how death comes' saying it was inane and trite and did I get the idea out of a grade school primer or something like that, then on my recent squirrel crack!fic about how I portrayed Owen and didn't treat him like the rapist he was.. and then they got weirder. *sigh* thanks for the help (and listening to the whine) hopefully they'll stop now.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2007-11-06 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
It sort of does, thanks. I'm sorry someone else is going through this though. *sigh* I guess the internet makes it so easy to act like that

[identity profile] fandom-me.livejournal.com 2007-11-06 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
*HUGS* Whine any time, that's just ridiculous and bitchy and well worth whinning about. The anonymous aspect just makes it more frustrating. Anyway, yes. *crosses everything*

[identity profile] smithy161.livejournal.com 2007-11-06 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
That's brilliant. Very cute!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2007-11-06 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! :)

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2007-11-06 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
thanks. If I can't get it out of my system I may make a full post about it. *hopefully* the problem's solved now.

[identity profile] fandom-me.livejournal.com 2007-11-06 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd make the post, honestly. Drawing attention to the problem's probably the best thing you can do - especially since it looks like it's happening to others.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2007-11-06 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Good point. I'll do it when I get home from work and will hopefully be a little less emotional about it all.

[identity profile] fandom-me.livejournal.com 2007-11-06 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
*wraps around you* Good plan.
