Quick question for UK peeps

Footed pyjamas for 3/4 year olds. Like this:

Do they exist there? If so, what do you call them?

If not, what would a 3-4 year old wear for bed?

Awwww. Dare I ask what you're writing?

One of the spots on my cliche-fic bingo card is 'kidfic'

*cackles manically*

At the moment I'm thinking Jack. With stuffed animal. And bewildered TW team

OMG, I love you sooooo much!

I was just telling someone how much I wished this story existed.

*laughs* At the moment I am bereft of that pesky plot. But the picture of Jack in slightly too big for him pjs, stuffed animal tucked under the arm, trying to look sincere and threatening...

you would be able to get them if you looked around I'm sure, but I have no idea what you'd call 'em. Usually it's only little kids (babies - 3 year olds I would say) who have footed PJs - and then they're sleepsuits or babygros depending on the age of the kid. Not sure if anyone calls anything a romper suit now.

Of course I don't have kids, so I could be talking utter bollocks. In fact I probably am, but I'm good at it so why change the habit of a lifetime?

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
*laughs* hmmm, yeah, I guess they are more for babies/toddlers here too and I was thinking just a bit older.

[identity profile] aeron-lanart.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
all-in-one?
You can scarily get them for adults (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Adult-All-In-One-Pyjamas-PJs-with-Feet_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ65Q3a12Q7c66Q3a2Q7c39Q3a1Q7c72Q3a1685Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem4ce9b32c63QQitemZ330338348131QQptZWomenQ5fsQ5fClothingQQsalenotsupported)

Yipes. I was originally picturing a one piece sleep outfit, although I suppose anything would work.

this (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Thomas-Tank-Engine-Pyjamas-Sleeper-babygro-3-4-Years_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ65Q3a12Q7c66Q3a2Q7c39Q3a1Q7c72Q3a1685Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a0Q7c293Q3a3Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem51892838acQQitemZ350193465516QQptZBoyQ5fsQ5fClothingQQsalenotsupported) one is available for 3/4 year olds and the auction calls it an all-on-one sleeper.

I've been looking at pyjamas and stuff a lot recently in my quest for a suitable pair for me to wear as Arthur Dent...

I stopped being able to get my kid into footed pajamas when she was about... um... a year old. If that old. Of course, she didn't wear them at all through the summer of her first year. By the time she was three or four, she was wearing night shirts and her undies and that's it.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
Mine definitely wore footed PJs later than that. But then again, winter in MN vs TX weather I suppose

LOL!! Yeah. Amazing, that. How cold do you let your house get in the winter?

I would call those a sleepsuit or (on a baby) a babygro.

But good luck finding them to fit a 3-4 year-old here! Well, I guess they do make them in that age range, but most of the kids I know have to wear clothes for older kids because the sizes aren't big enough these days.

Jack, for instance, is wearing 6-7 year-old clothes at 3 1/2. He just has normal two-piece pyjamas.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 01:34 pm (UTC)(link)
*Sighs* I was afraid the one-piece sleep outfit wasn't really for 3/4 year olds there. So just have him in pyjamas and not specify anything further?

Or maybe- Are they usually one solid color or patterned?

Just pyjamas would be fine. If you want to get more specific, Thomas and Friends pjs are very popular. *g* Or characters from other tv shows like In the Night Garden.

Or - you know - with pictures of cars etc.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 02:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks. Even if I don't describe them more then being pyjamas, I'll be able to write them better if I have a picture of them in my head.

No problem. :-)

[identity profile] stackcats.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 10:54 am (UTC)(link)
*Concurs with the masses* they'd really just be for younger babies, <1 year, I think.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-06-23 01:35 pm (UTC)(link)
*grumbles* I hate it when the real world conflicts with my picture of it in my head!
