So apparently ComicCon is soon. And RTD will be there. There are posts (yes, more than one) going up about what 'to do' to RTD. Threating, throwing coffee at him, yelling insults, and other things have all been mentioned.

Holy hell. People. Grow up. It's a tv show. Now I realize something happened that you didn't like but stop giving fans a bad name.

It's actually not for another two weeks, but yeah. I've seen the threats and this was one of the other reasons the recent events in TW pissed me off. I just *knew* that the fandom would turn even wankier.

I'll be at the Torchwood panel...should make for some interesting pics at least.

Unfortunately, since the 'official' airing of the eps here in the U.S. was timed to be during Comic Con, I'm thinking the batshit level may rise more than a bit. They're airing the last two eps on Saturday night at the Con and the panel is supposed to be on Sunday (at least this is what I've heard, no official schedule for those two days yet).

Oooh, I hadn't thought of that. But at least most of the batshit crazy fans will have seen it already or have been spoiled to the ending.

Of course RTD is mostly AFTER ratings and reactions, so he'll probably be thrilled.

I will strangle the person nearest me who tries to throw something at RTD. I will be at SDCC, I will be in the panels for DW and TW, and I will be respectful to the people who brought us these characters that we love in the first place.

It's starting to look like the backlash against JKR in the HP fandom, and we all know where that leads.

Neither do I, frankly. TW Fandom has grown to the point where it's no longer really one fandom, but has split (more or less) into the Ianto fangirls v. the rest of us. And guess which ones are "angry"

I don't get that J/I or nothing mentality. There's nothing wrong with a little J/I but there's more than J/I out there as well. Enjoy what you like and let everyone else enjoy what they like.

There's a lot more to TW fandom, and Jack, especially, than J/I. I like a well-written J/I fic as much as the next person (any well-written fic) but the all-or-nothing mentality has got to stop. We've seen it in fandom before, and we know it doesn't end well.

Oh sheesh. Even if people are mad at the guy, that's no excuse to go threatening/planning actual violence and crap like that.

I mean, kid me was hella upset by Generations and how they killed Kirk (it still annoys me), but I never once though of being all GO HURT THE WRITERS.
