Bizarre SGU promo shot

Am I the only one that finds this picture bizarre and possibly bordering on disturbing?

I mean, really? Do we have to portray the women as sex objects? And if they were lusting after/throwing themselves on someone, they chose him? The man who all the characters hate? *sighs*

Such things don't bother the people in charge.

not when they can show off boobies and pouty lips!

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
Definitely not when that is the case.

SYFY... as bankrupt for ideas as SciFi was. But with a NEW NAME!!!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
And... it's a cool new name?

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
If you like networks whose names look like the nickname for an STD, yeah.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
*giggles* with the kind of crap movies they produce aiming for STDs might fit their image

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
it's like they're trying to annoy their fans

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
I'd like to think they have some great evil plan behind this, but I really don't know what the ultimate goal would be.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
to become the network known for crappy C movies?

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you know, even bad press is good for a network.

I've never understood that philosophy. In the short term it might work, but it winds up ending badly because no one sticks around for long

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
I think they just tend to forget the last part of that all too often.

It's one of the reasons there are always the 'shocking' storylines during sweeps. pull the viewers in when it counts and who gives a damn the rest of the time

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
Nevermind those people who make the ratings during the rest of the year.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
And who cares about those that aren't the target demographic...

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
No one really cares what they want to watch.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
*grumbles* that's the case FAR too often

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
Definitely.
