Catch up post

Archive Of Our Own is in open beta now and I created an account there by putting in a request. My plan is eventually, in my copious amounts of free time, to upload a bunch of my stories there. I like fanfiction.net, but it's limiting as to what can be posted and I never wound up using it as much as I'd have liked to.

Regarding Yuletide... I got assigned the fandom that I least wanted and the request is one of those unspecific 'oh, write me anything I just love the show' types so I'm flailing a little, but hopefully something will come to me. Eventually.

There's a new Doctor Who today, but I never even saw the last one and unless this one has my flist all atwitter I doubt I'll go out of my way to see this one. I'm apathetic towards the show and don't have a lot of faith in RTD, which is a sad state of affairs. *sigh*

It's just another archive for fanfic, but a multifandom one and it isn't as restrictive in what it allows as some of the others (like ff.net). It was in closed beta for a long time but is finally allowing more authors in.

As for "Waters" I just tracked it down, and it seems like typical Ten and RTD over-angsty plot to me. I'm sure it interests a lot of people, but it's what I don't really like about Ten or RTD's stories.

oddly, for yuletide, all the reactions I've seen are SQUEE!!! or OMG!!!! there's been nothing in between.

Ah, no worries then. Probably best to give it a miss as they're bound to recap it if it's important to the next ones.

I'll watch it if it ever airs here, and probably track down a streaming link just in case I watch to catch it before the next one (which I do plan on watching, just because of what it represents). But other than that, skipping it is probably better since it'll prevent me from finding faults with the plot and the characters.
