Thank you! When watching "SOTD" and 'LOTTL' I always had trouble with WHY Jack wouldn't have gone with Martha, or stayed and let himself be held like that. This was the only way I could make it work in my mind, that he knew the Master would turn on the Jones family and The Doctor if he left so he stayed to protect them. No idea if that's what RTD intended though.
