Sad, sad news
I've tweeted a bit about this but haven't posted, so here goes:
Fuzzbutt began to have an issue with his left eye in early November, despite visits to the vet's and drops and pills it's gotten worse and currently the entire side of his face is hugely swollen, he can't open the eye and it's affecting his breathing. He's also been ill, has stopped eating and has trouble with his kidneys/bladder. Overall he lost 2.6 pounds from then to now and is simply just skin and bones.
In an hour we're bringing him in to have them put him to sleep. We had him a little over 16 years and it was a hard decision to make but it's the humane thing to do.
To remember him at a better time:

So sorry, for all of you, hon. That's so hard to do, even when you know it's right. Much love for you.

Having gone through a very similar situation with our Pardis earlier this year, I understand and sympathize immensely.

I am so sorry you've lost Fuzzbutt. It's a very hard decision to make, even though you know it's the right one.
He was a very well loved kitty.
*Hugs you*
