Writing Meme

As you might have noticed I haven't been writing so hopefully this will spark some brain cells into working:

Ask me a question about one of my stories, or about my writing in general. It can be absolutely anything in any fic, and I will answer you as honestly as I possibly can. Don’t hold back. Ask about my plans for future parts of a current series if you want to, or progress on something in-progress that you've gotten an early peek at; just keep in mind that I may not have anything firm/definite in the works. Anything. Whatever you ask, I will try my best to answer.

Hmmm, Old Man. It was never supposed to be a series in the first place, I'd written the original story and then couldn't quite get the picture of that broken Jack out of my head.

I have to say, it's incredibly unlikely I'll ever go back to that series, getting it to the point I did is about as far as I can see me writing, especially considering the changes that have occurred to both characters since this was first started.

The Doctor, being the Doctor, wouldn't be able to let it rest. I think he'd take off and try to put Jack out of his mind, maybe get embroiled in an adventure or two, but he'd find his mind drifting back to Jack and would try to contain himself, but would still return to check in on Jack.

He wouldn't let Jack see him, not at first. And he'd have to check in shortly after he left, to make sure Jack stayed off the blissfire and away from the whorehouse. Jack, of course, would always be able to tell when the Doctor snuck in, but he'd expected it so (as long as the Doctor didn't try to interfere) it didn't bother him that much.

The Doctor's visits became further and further apart as he got more caught up in his own adventures, but years down the road (for both men) and older and wiser Doctor showed up again, finding Jack still working at the tavern with Gunther and Nell's descendants. They are both in different places in their lives then and more accepting and understanding of each other and what the other has been through and they are ready to travel together and, perhaps, be together.

I was hoping they'd get there eventually. I'm sad that I won't see it written, but at least now I know. Thanks! :)

I never say never when it comes to writing, but I'm glad you liked where I thought it was going.
