Hey everyone. I'm driving the

crack_van for the tv show 'The Magnificent Seven' this month. I'm pretty sure no one on my flist has even heard of this show, let alone participated in the fandom but I figured I'd put some of my recs here anyway.

Here's the show's overview and it provides all the information you'll need to read fic in this fandom. Heck, you probably don't even need that much. I got into this fandom via crossovers and started reading its stories before even watching an episode. Then for the longest time all I'd seen was the pilot, which is up at youtube (minus the first few minutes, which youtube deleted for some reason).

The gen reading lover in me has found a magnificent bounty in this fandom and the amount of slash is mindboggling (not surprising though, I suppose, since the cast is made up of 7 quite handsome men). And what I find fascinating is that there are so many established universes to play in: the old west (the canon one), an ATF AU, the little britches verse (where a few of the characters are children), the escorts AU (the seven are prostitutes/escorts), a lawyer AU, search and rescue, racing (bicycles), park rangers, several space ones.... it's mind boggling.

I remember that show! I never watched it, but I remember being extremely angry when it premiered because it was displacing my then-favorite show on saturday nights.

It may be time to set aside that grudge, since it's been 12 years, but still...

But I'm embarrassed to admit it. Even though I've probably said it before.

I loved that show and was quite avid in it for about 5-6 years. My favorite story is Through sun and shadow by Debra Hicks. It was in a zine and then posted online for a while but I think it was taken down again. It is a Ezra/Vin old west story that just tugged at me. I am a major Ezra/Vin from the beginning.

I'm not a big slash reader, but I've read a little Ezra/Vin. some is VERY good.

I don't think I've read that one. It is up at blackraptor's adult site, I'll check it out!

Isn't it? Even I can see the slash there and I'm notorious for not having slash goggles. I'll be reccing an assortment of fic so hopefully there will be something for everyone.

It sounds like you're even more active in it than I am! You should sign up to rec at crack van, there was only one person signed up after me last time I checked.

you should check it out! There's a lot of good recs there. Here's Mag7's tag (http://community.livejournal.com/crack_van/tag/the magnificent seven) or via the memories, I found a number of good stories poking through it (although some of the links have gone *poof*) Oh and all the recs for Mag& up until this past October or so are compiled here on delicious (http://delicious.com/Mag7fangirl).

I know about Magnificent Seven because of you. It sounds like such a fun fandom, I wish I had more time to read! I'm glad you're driving the crack van!
