An Apology

I apologize to anyone who was offended by my recent "A Pair Of Jacks" drabble.  I thought it was funny and assumed the author's note would be warning enough. 

I'll be stepping back from LJ for a bit, my kids are home all week and I'll be busy with Thanksgiving and it's just not fun to write when you're worried about getting slammed or insulted for it.  I'll try to keep up with my flist but most likely any stories I post will be few and far between.

*hugs, and offers chocolate-frosted chocolate donuts* I've not read the drabble in question (though I wish I had! stupid sleep getting in the way of flist reading!.), but...

anyone who is offended by fic needs to take a step back and remember that they could have chosen not to read the story, and thus their being upset by it is all their damned fault. And if they can't be constructive, and have to resort to making the author upset and defensive, they need to turn off their browser for a while, and think about why they're upset about the story, and how to word a review as to be constructive. Or at least, not offensive themselves.

In the meanwhile, there are people who love your stories, and want to read them. Such as those of us who didn't get to read the drabble in question before it vanished. (I think it vanished. I certainly don't see it, and I really want to see it, because damnit, I like your stories, and why is it that the only way I remember to say something is there's a story I've now missed reading?)
