1- he's horribly jealous of Jack, because Jack is comfortable with who he IS as a person and Owen is not
2- the idea of being in charge scares him, he liked being 2nd in command, because it's sort of like power with out responsibilities
3- He thinks convicing someone to have sex with him gives him a level of power over them. Thia came back to bite him (figuratively) with Diane, she can't figure out how she could have left

..I love you. I am So with you on all of that, especially 1 and 3, and I hadn't even THOUGHT about 3 all that much, but it just. Sounds right.

Owen has 3) in common with a lot of other guys on this planet, who've also discovered that their hypothesis wasn't confirmed by empiracal testing. Heh. Yes, I know I'm mean, he's just such a self-pitying little sleaze; Jack's a saint among bosses not to have retconned his ass (& given him another black eye) after the Weevil fight club.

Owen really though Jack was going to retcon him, especially before it all went to hell in the last episode.

I think he's still not sure why Jack forgave him

It'll take Owen a looong time to figure that out. If he ever does. Actually, I wonder if one reason Jack never did is that he believes Owen would be even more self- & otherwise destructive retconned than he is already.

Exactly. We can only hope that between Jack having to die in agony to cover Owen & the others' mistake, & Jack staying dead for so long, Owen has finally begun to dimly perceive there may be some errors in his database.

'dimly perceive' is probably the best we could hope for. Then there's also Jack disappearing right after waking up... that'd throw him for a loop. he'll have to be *in charge* shudder

Yeeeaaaahh. *If* he survives the experience, when Jack comes back Owen'll be on his knees kissing the hem of his garment. Though, with Owen in charge, Cardiff should have less of a Weevil problem. All Owen would have to do is hiss at them & they'd be eager to get into a nice, safe cell with a locked door between themselves & that psycho.
