Word Count: art fill
Summary: He kept the notes.
Author's Note: Written for the [livejournal.com profile] watsons_woes amnesty prompts wherein 10 fics are written for 10 prompts and all are part of the same story arc. This is the tenth story, for the prompt "Epistolary fic, post-it note style." They did ask for post-it notes afterall...

EEEEEE!!! I don't have sufficient words to describe how much I love this. Fantastic just isn't sufficient. Creative doesn't begin to cover it. And heartwarmingly tender...yeah.

Well done!

I loved all 10 fics, but this really got to me. I'm actually tearing up reading the post-its because it's both beautifully uplifting to see the improvement in John and at the same time so touching that Sherlock kept a record of his progress in abandoned post-its. Brilliant idea.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it!

The story you tell with the Anmesty prompts is excellent, but I have to say that the Post-It epistolary is MADE OF BRILLIANCE!!!
What a fine conclusion to your story. It is wonderful how a visualisation brings out greater elements than mere simple words could have.

*hee* Any excuse to use post-it notes is a good one in my book! Glad you liked it! :)

Wow. I think that picture says so much without saying much at all. I really enjoyed the stories, but this was a perfect, powerful way to end it. :D

Hey! Not sure how I missed all these when they were written, but I just read through them all now and they are wonderful. I really like that you have the realism of how someone with a severe brain injury would have to recover. So often people just pop out of comas with no damage done in stories. And this final piece is just sweet beyond words. I really love the visual.

Though I do I have to say that John has surprisingly nice writing for a left-handed doctor, :p.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2012-01-25 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
bwhahaha, I hadn't considered the 'doctor's handwriting' stereotype, but I suppose his writing needed to be decent to show the improvement? Glad you liked it!

[identity profile] awanderingbard.livejournal.com 2012-01-25 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I think the doctor's handwriting stereotype comes from the fact that they're always in a hurry, so it's perfectly plausible that if John was taking his time, which he would be doing if it was hard for him, his writing would be nicer. Anyway, it's not important because I love the concept so much. That "Mrs. Hudson is helping me" just kills me. So sweet.:-)
