Torchwood
1. What got you into this fandom in the first place?
Ah, now that's a bit of a tough one. It was through Torchwood that I pretty much found fandom. Boiled down, I caught "Empty Child" by accident (we'd given up on DW after "Father's Day") and fell in love with Jack and watched the rest of his episodes. That scene where the TARDIS takes off leaving Jack behind on the game station? It KILLED ME. And after seeing it (on SciFi channel, so long after it aired in the UK) I googled John Barrowman to see what else he'd done and if it looked like he'd be in later Doctor Who episodes. I saw info about Torchwood mentioned and some more googling led me to a Yahoo TW group and followed a link to![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
torch_wood and eventually got sucked full force into fandom from there.
2. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
Unfortunately I'd say I'm moving on. For absolute ages Jack WAS my fandom. But I haven't written more than a drabble in it about a year. And I couldn't tell you the last time I read anything in it that my Flist hadn't written. I haven't even finished watching "Miracle Day".
3. Favorite episode?
"Captain Jack Harkness" hands down. No contest whatsoever. Matt Rippy was amazing and JB sold his scenes so well and everyone, absolutely everyone was wonderful and Bilis was a horrifically creepy perfect bad guy and and and.... Love the episode. Just love it.
4. Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
Not so much anymore. For a year/year and a half I lived in TW/Jack's fandom. I haven't done much with it in ages.
5. Do you think more people should get into this fandom?
Hard to say. The Sane/Crazy side of it is nice, but there are sections.... The fandom does seem to be dying out and that does make me a little sad though.
Dresden Files
1. What got you into this fandom in the first place?
Not what, who.awanderingbard, this was entirely your fault. I'd watched the show when it aired and read a few of the books and saw the Holiday Wish List meme that was going around where you asked for a fic with Ramirez as a main character and thought I'd give it a go.
2. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
Honestly, I never really got in it in the first place. I dipped my toes in, but never went any further than that and have since completely stepped away except for brushes with it from my flist.
3. Favorite episodes/books/movies, etc?
Hmmm, I really liked the pilot. I honestly don't remember the books well enough to pick a favorite.
4. Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
Nope. Only if it shows up on my flist.
5. Do you think more people should get into this fandom?
Don't really have an opinion on it.
NCIS
1. What got you into this fandom in the first place?
I found the show by following Michael Weatherly from "Dark Angel" to NCIS, although I was also sort of watching JAG so I'd caught the backdoor pilot that way. I found the fandom by poking around LJ and ff.net after finding my way here via Torchwood and started reading fic.
2. Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
I'd like to think I'd stay, at least on some level. I'm still watching at least.
3. Favorite episodes?
Hmmmm, tough one. "Missing" and "SWAK" come to mind straight away, but there are a few others (all Tony-centric) that I'll always watch when they are on, no matter what.
4. Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
Discussions to some extent and I still read and write it occasionally, but nowhere near as often as I used to.
5. Do you think more people should get into this fandom?
Yes! It's a very friendly fandom, despite the "Tiva" wars and it's always been a bit on the quiet side, more fic and discussions would be great. Especially Tony h/c. I'll always been a fan of Tony h/c.
