A Writing Anniversary of Sorts

I posted my first story 6 months ago today, a drabble called Begrudging Acceptance.   Since then I have posted 93 stories, 54 of them drabbles (22 of the alien donut variety.)   40 stories (33 drabbles) were posted in November alone.

I'm not sure if I should be proud or scared of those numbers.

It's weird - everyone else loved that episode. I was just going wtf????

it had two good lines (puppet boy and 'my nose comes off, that's kind of cool') but otherwise I was really creeped out by the episode, just... didn't like it at all- and not enough Spike or Fred in it

Yeah, that's pretty much what I thought. I just went to look up my original review and - hey, you want to see it? It's not long:

It had some interesting ideas (puppets taking over the world, Angel as a puppet) but it turned out to be really rather a nothingy episode. Could have done with more jokes, perhaps more Spike in such a comedy episode.

I did like puppet Angel fighting Spike, the lift opening to show he’d won, and leaping onto Spike’s arm. Also Angel’s “And my nose comes off”. And puppet Angel vamping out. And Nina waking up with Angel fluff in her mouth.

But the puppet didn’t even look much like Angel!

It was nice to see some development in the relationships (Angel & Nina, Fred & Wes) and sweet that Wes could give Angel advice but couldn’t see clearly about his own relationship – but again I felt it could have been done better.

The Gunn story was fairly interesting, and very sinister at the end when he walked into Angel’s office suddenly back on form so you knew he’d gone ahead and made an even bigger deal with the devil.

5/10

Oh, and look, I just got a new Angel icon. :-)

I forgot to mention the puppet vamping, that WAS really cute. But yeah, we pretty much saw the episode the same way. And, very nice icon!

Well, it's really nice to have found someone else who didn't adore that ep!

Some day, I'll get back to finishing off my Angel and Buffy reviews. I still have a fair number to do and I really would like to have a review and a score for EVERY episode!

that impresses me, the reviews and scores. I could never be that organized

I like statistics, remember?

I just started writing reviews for the message board I was on, then eventually started saving the damn things... And I always give things scores... And then I started putting them all in order...

I have lists of 138 Buffy episodes and 85 Angel episodes in order of greatness. I would really, really like to make that 144 and 110. :-)

Hmm. I have reviews and scores for all DW S1 now, but I haven't got round to putting them all in order...
