The Mark He Bears

Title:  The Mark He Bears
Pairing/Warning/Rating: Jack/Ianto, none, rated G
Word Count: 100
Summary:  Scars can tell a lot about a person
Author's Note: Written for [profile] fandom_me

Jack lay on the bed, the scar on his hip obvious in the moonlight.  Ianto gently stroked the thin line.  It looked deep and old, when he’d asked about it Jack grimaced and changed the subject.  For other scars he’d told long, improbable stories of derring-do; something about this scar that was different.   The other injuries had left their marks upon his body, but this one had left a scar on his soul.

Ianto leaned over, kissing it softly, he couldn’t take away the painful memories associated with the scar, but perhaps he could add some pleasant ones as well.

I was leaving commenting on this until I could think of how to say what I wanted to. I still can't, but the uppermost thought in my head is that this kind of goes beyond under-your-skin intimate. It's lovely.

I think that's one of the best compliments I've ever received. Thank you!
