It's snowing. Again.

I hate Mother Nature so very much right now.

April 17th and practically white out conditions.

And, to make matters that much more fun, a nice layer of ice under the snow.

UGH.

In my twelve years of working for this company, I have been sent home early exactly once, and that barely happened. I think there was one day where I had already pre-emptively called in as well, but I can't be sure. We have an emergency number to call to see if we're closed. We never are. Other locations yes, but never MN.

It got eerily calm here a little while ago... right after the sirens sounded. We had thundersnow last week, is it time for a snow tornado?

It's tornado awareness day or something and the sirens went off twice because of it, nothing actually weather related.

Tornado Awareness Day? Is an actual thing? But why in any deity's name would they have them go off at 7 pm in the middle of a storm? Sense make not. Thanks for the explanation, though!

I can't remember if that's what it was called, I vaguely heard them talking about it on NPR this morning. There was to be one at 1:45 and the other the one that went off this evening. It was statewide and was supposed to be WI too but due to the predicted weather WI pushed theirs back until tomorrow.
