Are we SURE it's May?

This was taken about 8:30 this morning, and it's even worse out there now.

This is getting ridiculous.

eta- It changed over to first freezing rain and then regular rain about 1pm so it looks like there won't be any chance of having to shovel. THANKFULLY.

Time to just give up, man. Hunker down, and pray for July?

That sounds about right. I was in shorts on Monday though and the cats enjoyed having all the windows open, now it's back to layers and having the heat on. This year is *weird*.

Good grief :S That's seriously confused weather!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2013-05-03 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
It really, really is. I feel so bad for the farmers and the wildlife.

Even MY state got snow last night! Three inches in one northwest town. It's the first May snow here in recorded history.

CRAZY SPRING.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2013-05-03 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
You did? WOW. As a state the only month without any recorded snow here is August, but considering how north we go and whatnot I guess that's not surprising. I remember flurries on May 1st or 2nd once, but not actual SNOW here. Even though it's starting to completely cover the grass there is nothing accumulating on the streets or sidewalks yet so with luck at least I won't have to shovel.

Thinking about it, once upon a long time ago, my daughter went on an organised bike ride in May and they got rather very unexpectedly snowed on and had to turn back.

They hadn't planned on snow? Whyever not? *rolls eyes*

[identity profile] emeraldsedai.livejournal.com 2013-05-03 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Weird, huh?

We've had frosts or near-frosts here too. And yet, we had almost no winter. It's as if the seasons are flattening out. It's strangely disturbing, isn't it?

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2013-05-03 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
It just changed over to rain about 20 minutes ago, but yes, so very, very weird.

[identity profile] mad-jaks.livejournal.com 2013-05-03 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
That's NOT right. Not right at all.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2013-05-03 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
It really, really isn't. Mother Nature is *messing* with us.

Change the setting, keep the snow, add MORE snow - you have the view from my window this time last month. Today, the same view looks like summer. Something is strange out there.

the weather is very odd this year. *nods and sighs*

UGH!
