QI!!!

FYI for you QI lovers out there, the show is putting together a '50 Greatest Moments' list via fan suggestions. You can include your own here: http://qi.com/top-50-qi-moments

Qi, for those of you who don't know, is an amazing British panel quiz show hosted by Stephen Fry and Alan Davies. Guest stars change every week but regulars include David Mitchell, Jo Brand, Bill Bailey, Phil Jupitus, Sean Locke, Jimmy Carr, Rob Brydon, Sandi Toskvig, Clive Anderson, Sue Perkins and numerous others. You can find a number (if not all) of the episodes online here and here. (Each series has a different letter theme so be aware the earlier ones, A and B in particular, are a bit choppier as the formula hadn't been perfected yet.)

Perhaps the most famous clip is mentioned on the questionnaire, "They say of the Acropolis where the Parthenon is…"

which is a truly hysterical one but I haven't quite made up my mind which to nominate although the folks on my flist might like this John Barrowman shout out:

*basks in the glory that is QI*

I am so looking forward to the Greatest Moments compilation!!

Also thanks for the links! I haven't seen as much as I would like to, and now I can catch up a bit.

I feel like I should apologize for giving you them, it's far too easy to click over and say "I'll watch just one" and then realize it's hours and hours later.... Or maybe that's just me :)

No no, it's good. They will be my treats for laundry time. And for a little while after laundry time :)

Well, one loves the John Barrowman shout-out, of course, but the Parthenon bit really is some of the funniest TV I've ever seen. That was fantastic.

The Parthenon bit is legendary. QI is an awesome show, if you've some time try an episode or two. And some of the frequent guest stars are amazing. I really recommend watching one with Sandi Toskvig or Sue Perkins, both are so smart and funny.

I may have to nominate the laugh that Jimmy Carr got when the question was "name a vertebrate with no back-bone" and he said "Nick Clegg."

Or the one when the question was "Name the most poisonous snake" and I think Alan said "Piers Morgan."
