By a vote of 75-59, the Minnesota House of Representatives passes the freedom to marry for same-sex couples, the bill will now move onto the Minnesota Senate. The vote there is expected to happen on Monday.

COME ON, MN!!!!

Yays!

And locally (in a suburb near where I live) brave Republican Illinois State Rep. Ron Sandack spoke up publicly in favor of same-sex marriage at a demonstration conducted by anti-gay protestors. This happened on May 4, as the same-sex marriage bill awaits a vote by the Illinois House of Representatives.

Wouldn't it be great if this year state after state passes these kinds of bills? And wow, I always am extra impressed with politicians who cross party lines for these sorts of things.
