Indoor rainstorm alert

So, as of 12:01 this morning, same sex marriages have been legal in MN (and Rhode Island!) and I've been getting all teary-eyed looking at all the resulting photos. I've posted a ton to tumblr, but here's a sampling of articles and whatnot. Such happiness and joy!

(this is my Rabbi btw, he volunteered his services to perform any Jewish ceremonies)

there was an article on buzzfeed (i think) and it made me all teary at work! good on your rabbi for volunteering to officiate. and man, the number of couples with kids - and the interracial couples, and the middle aged or older couples, and the couple who made their vows in sign language! - made me so ridiculously happy.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2013-08-03 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, yes! That buzzfeed article (http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/the-75-most-unforgettable-moments-from-minnesotas-first-day)! They do great articles - there was a first day of weddings when they became legal in WA showing all the Seattle ones (http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/60-moments-that-gave-me-the-chills-during-seattle)that always tears me up.

I loved the sign language one. And all those kids! I felt a little bad for the poor munchkins having to be awake at 3am or whatever, but they were all SO HAPPY!!! Yay for happy making!!!

Oh man, indoor rainstorm is no exaggeration. I am completely awash in tears of joy.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2013-08-06 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
Everytime I look at them again or find a new article I get teary eyed. EVERYTIME. (Go look at the eta buzzfeed article if you don't mind another rainstorm.)

Ooh, or this video about the couple that were married third (the Jewish wedding) and their 38 yr engagement http://www.startribune.com/video/218069651.html#/218069651/video/1/shf

Too many tears! OMG. That's wonderful, but almost too moving.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2013-08-06 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
So many tears. And I keep hoping, with every state that passes laws legalizing same sex marriage that we get closer and closer to when it won't be tears because it'll be so commonplace it won't be remotely special when two people who love each other get married.

[identity profile] emeraldsedai.livejournal.com 2013-08-06 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
So very true. Though me? Always tears at weddings of all kinds.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2013-08-06 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
Come to think of it, That's me too.
