Opinions?
For the past week I've been working on a fill for a kinkmeme (the prompt is for a gen crossover), it's been a struggle and I'm 2/3rd done or so but a fill for the prompt was posted this morning. Normally, I'm all for multiple fills but this one is in EXACTLY the same style as I was writing and obvious has many same plot points (as it's a fill for the same prompt). So, do I:
a) Finish writing and post it anyway (to the meme, my LJ and AO3)
b) Finish writing and post it to my LJ and AO3, but not the kinkmeme
c) Take this as a sign and put it aside
(option d could be to rewrite it in a different style, but I am loathe to do that.)
I should mention that the style is fairly typical for the crossover fandom, a good number of the fics in it are written that way as it's the style of the show.
ETA- I decided to go with B with a smidge of A. Posted it to my LJ and AO3 and linked, but did not post, at the kinkmeme. The final story did wind up with some similarities, but wasn't overly the same.

But, I would finish and post it elsewhere, definitely. If you want to, of course. If you're sick of fighting with it, then you don't have to feel guilty about walking away.

(I once wrote a fill to an awesome prompt that got a really (really) crappy fill. It was so bad I sat down with my daughter/co-author and wrote the OP a better one.)
