Summary:  Jack tries to enjoy the picnic

They were out on a picnic.  The entire team had looked at him like he was insane when he’d suggested it, but here they were, laughing and enjoying themselves.  The sun was bright and the wind brought the aroma of wild flowers.   Jack stretched out on the soft grass.  He couldn’t quite relax, his muscles kept jumping at the slightest noise and he kept scanning the sky for a danger that would never come.

After a year of pain and darkness this change of scene was exactly what he needed, but it was going to take some getting used to.

Oh, that's so sweet. The idea of a picnic is much better than camping :-)

Poor old Jack. I really can't imagine what he's going through - and going through alone. Hurry up, Martha!
