I haven't been great about keeping up the journaling aspect of LJ so quickly- life is a little chaotic because daughter has just started college (all the way off in PA) and meanwhile son is in the middle of the applying for colleges/last yr of HS phase. There's been a bunch of pressure from inlaws as to college choices and what's "acceptable" and fun stuff like that. And poor Molly (the dog) is not adjusting too well to daughter being gone- she's had to switch from spending the day sleeping upstairs on daughter's bed to spending the day sleeping on her chair in the mainroom.

Fandom-wise, I'm still chugging along in my attempts to be as multifannish as possible. The new TV season hasn't had anything great pop up- I'm watching Gotham (meh), Sleepy Hollow (Whee!), The Blacklist (decent), SHIELD (blargh), Forever (new show- a combo of New Amsterdam and Sherlock, has potential but...), Legends (decent), and Haven (improved a LOT) with Flash, SPN, and Arrow starting next week. Eventually White Collar, Grimm and Constantine will be added as well when they start airing. Person of Interest and Elementary were dropped due to lack of interest/other things on at the same time. Not sure what I'll do in the SPN/SHIELD timeslot sharing issue, SPN will probably win out.

Yuletide signups will be soonish which is all kinds of exciting, I'll definitely be signing up.

Anyone up to anything interesting?

poor molly. :( it's gotta be rough when your people suddenly start going off to college.

i was vaguely interested in forever but it must be on against something else i like, because i haven't watched it. is it only eh? and i kinda like gotham but more and more i think that's just because i like donal logue and jada pinkett smith and the guy who plays cobblepot, and i like how it looks. gordon is boring and i don't care about wee!bruce and i occasionally feel like the ptb are throwing in a lot of stuff from the comics that's going over my head. but i want it to get better!

sleepy hollow is such a "whee!" show. it's my favorite batshit.

Forever's pilot was very rough, but each episode has improved a lot and I rather liked this week's (the third episode). It's up against several things in the Tuesday 10/9c slot on ABC. It stars Ioan Gruffudd, who's quite good and Judd Hirsch too. If it lasts then check it out, I'd say

I think you like Gotham more than I. I find the cinematography amazing but I can't quite get into the plot and the fact it's impossible to figure out when it's set bugs me a little. (I do catch a LOT of the comic references and am starting to find them annoying)

Sleepy Hollow, the show where enchanted necklaces and headless badguys are perfectly acceptable! Gotta love it! And I also love the casting of the new Captain. Their PD looks like NY looks, it's great.

forever is on against sons of anarchy, that's why i haven't seen it. but i think soa is over in january, so i might be able to catch up. i didn't know it had judd hirsch! i like him. i always think of him as jeff goldblum's dad in independence day.

i think i want gotham to be good so i can enjoy it so there's at least one dc comics related property that i can get into besides the christopher nolan batman movies. but also, donal logue! (and i'm annoyed because i know there are comic references i'm not catching! i think the ptb might want to pull back on those.)
