What is consci_fan_mo you ask? The ultimate antidote to NaNo, it's "three weeks of short stories of the sci-fi and fantasy kind, whether they be fanfiction or original works. The sort of stories you can curl up on the sofa with, while the weather does its worst outside, and can finish reading before your tea goes cold and your biscuit goes soggy in the saucer." (aka fics 100-2,000 words)

And it's FUN!

Right now it's asking for prompts- fandom prompts, lyric or quote prompts, and image prompts. Go throw an idea into the mix! And while you're there, why not join the comm?

In previous years, besides original fic, just a few of the fandoms all came out to play were Alien Nation, Angel, Babylon 5, Blade Runner, Blood Ties, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Discworld, Doctor Who, Dresden Files, Eureka, Firefly, Heroes, Highlander, Hitchhiker's Guide, Merlin, New Amsterdam, Red Dwarf, Star Trek, Stargate, Supernatural, The Wild Wild West, Torchwood, Warehouse 13 and MANY MANY OTHERS. Let's try for a equally diverse group of fandoms this time around!!

Prompting ends December 7th while posting begins December first and ends December 21st.

Ok... so I've seen NaNo from more than a few writers. Stupid question: what is NaNo?

It's short for NaNoWriMo or National Novel Writing Month where people try to write a 50k novel in the month of November.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?! I've read enough of your stories to beg to differ!! Beat yourself with a bag of 5 day old donuts for such heresy!!! (The crazy part, I'm not touchin'.) Your short stories are funny, intelligent and sometimes thought-provoking but you're definitely creative enough!

OMG, I gotta go find those pictures; I have a picture of a cake some friends and I gave to a friend for his birthday from the Erotic Bakery and I don't want all the writers out there to have access to it. I told badly_knitted about it so only you two will see it. I'll dig it out tomorrow and scan it.

It's gotta be worthy of a drabble... involving Jack, Ianto and Owen :D
