watsons_woes's JWP#2, yellow.
He sat by the bed and waited.
He waited as red turned to purple, purple to green, green to yellow before fading away.
He waited as swaths of bandages became thin strips that were replaced with plasters and then nothing at all.
He waited as one by one the leads and wires and tubes were removed and the hissing and beeping became a familiar, yet weakened, wheeze.
He waited as idiots plodded by, chittering moronic platitudes like "It'll be fine." and "He'll get better." and "Don't blame yourself, Sherlock, it's not your fault.".
Through it all he sat and waited.
