Captain America Civil War

I finally got a chance to see it today. I'm not going to harsh anyone's squee so all I'll say is that it was not the movie I wanted it to be, nor will it provide the jump back into fannish excitement about something (anything) that I was hoping for.

Well, that and COME ON, they couldn't figure out a way to have Steve shirtless in yet ANOTHER movie?

It was about what I was expecting, which was: good enough to entertain me and give me a few good discussions with friends, but not enough to kick me into active Marvel fandom. I read some, but it's mostly post-the-first-Avengers-movie fic, when everyone hoped that they would all move in with Tony and be one big happy family.

But yes, re Steve. :D

As (vaguely) silly as some of those fics were, I did love the happy-family-avengers fics and that era of found family stories. *sighs*

Tptb behind the MCU is SO SILLY. One shirtless Chris Evans scene in FIVE MOVIES. Just one scene!!!! What is wrong with those people!?!?!

and they had the perfect opportunity when he was hanging on to the helicopter! his t-shirt could've split SO EASILY. but no. sigh.

I was thinking the EXACT SAME THING! Can you imagine the straining muscles we would have scene if that happened?

My daughter wanted to know why Steve rejected the accords without even reading them first. I told her that spending six hours of film watching Chris Evans turn pages would not sell, but perhaps if he took his shirt off first....?

I would watch that. Well, maybe not all six hours of it, but definitely a large chunk :)
