So I decided to make sure to grab the donutsweeper name there and created a comm to do so and wound up with a ton more invites so if anyone out there is still interested in checking out the site just head on over to https://www.imzy.com/donutsweeper/request-invite and you can get one and see for yourself what the site is like.

My overall impression, honestly, is it's still VERY in beta and a bit clunky. The staff is incredibly open to questions and concerns though, and there is a lot of back and forth as to what's working and what needs improvement. Overall it's still kind of quiet, but that might just be on the comms I follow, some have thousands and thousands of members so I assume there's more going on in them. I've high hopes for a few comms, there's FANDOM_DEALER which is hoping to become the new place for fandom recs ala crack_van and a ton of writing/prompt ones as well as the drabble challenge one I mentioned in the last post. So who knows, maybe it'll become the new platform everyone will use.

Only time will tell.

I am curious what other people who've checked it out think though!

Just signed up and am trying to figure it out! Can you have friends, or is it only communities? What communities would you recommend?

From what I can tell at the moment there is only communities (but tptb have commented in ways it looks like that might change at some point?). It's a lot more like tumblr than LJ/DW in the way it seems harder to make friends and keep up with people as opposed to just come across comms and people there with similar interests.

I honestly haven't found a lot of interesting comms. I joined a bunch of fandom ones but there's not a lot happening on any of them. The main imzy commm has a lot that might be helpful https://www.imzy.com/imzy. There's a bunch of general fandom type ones https://www.imzy.com/fandom_calendar, https://www.imzy.com/fandom_dealer (the new crack-van like one) and https://www.imzy.com/fandomsoapbox that might have potential, but basically I type random things in the search and see what pops up.
