So this is a post....

So much for getting my act together and posting at least once a week.

MN's been stuck in a cycle of stupidly cold snaps followed by unseasonably warm followed by lots of snow followed by stupidly cold, repeat ad nauseam. Fun times. (By stupidly cold I mean days where the high doesn't get above 0F, luckily there hasn't been much ridiculously cold aka lows or even highs of -40 with windchill. Meanwhile, unseasonably warm is above freezing, sometimes even into the 40s. Let me tell you, a 50 degree shift in less than 48 hours is rather bizarre.) The result of this type of weather, though, is lots of slippery ice as well as weirdly packed snow/ice and the roads and sidewalks are just awful to navigate. With any luck once we get through Feb things will improve. *crosses fingers*

I accidentally wound up dropping The Librarians. I basically only finished last season out of inertia and somehow missed when it was coming back and it was airing 2 eps in a row so by the time I realized it had returned I was pretty behind and I realized I didn't quite care enough to bother to catch up. Maybe when it's on netflix I'll binge it, but it depends on how much Flynn is in it. I'm not a fan of Flynn.

The Good Place is done for the year. I binged S1 after hearing about the way it ended, and liked S2 a lot, although I'm not so sure about where it's going now. I do hope it moved to a little more of a ensemble feel and less Eleanor-centric once it picks up again.

Due to the Snowflake Challenge thing I wound up (re)reading a bunch of fics in fandoms I was in once upon a time and it got me thinking how fandom/fanfic can be a great way of explaining away problems/unexplained things in canon, but, by doing so, can also wind up shining a big ol' spotlight on it and make you wonder just what tptb were thinking (if they were thinking) when they wrote it in the first place. So many example of that. SO MANY. *sighs*

I really enjoyed the first season of The Librarians! I just...never followed through with it. I have a TERRIBLE attention span for TV, really. I still haven't seen the Christmas special or last season of Sherlock, or the last two Christmas specials and season of Doctor Who. And Doctor Who has been my longest-held fannish love!

Clara never grew on me. I kept watching because I did think Peter Capaldi (like Colin Baker) suffered through some terrible scripts in his first season and I thought things might improve. And I have to say that when he got decent scripts in the second season, he was AMAZING. But the writing wasn't good enough, consistently enough, to make me pick up the third season when I am also suffering from a full-time, 24/7, massively excessive, borderline-illegal Michael Weatherly obsession.

(Sorry for the disappearing comment...maybe I've figured it out now?)

Testing out the DW photo hosting. While I love MW's look at any age and I'm really into the more mature vibe he's got going on Bull, this pic kinda makes me want to write bad things.

Can you only post tiny pics on DW that link to the full-size image? How do I get a big pic in here?
