Tumblr and whatnot

I'm at tumblr at penguinsweaters (I dunno, I thought it clever at the time). I'm pretty active there, although it's 95% reblogging stuff (mostly cute animals and a few fandomy things- if you ever need a pick-me-up check out my adorables tag). I have every intention of staying there but I am going to try to use DW/LJ a little more as well. I'm also active in discord on a few fannish servers. Technically, I have a pillowfort, but I never used it after poking my head in a while back and not being able to find anything and it's currently down but technically my acct (under donutsweeper) there exists.

Ugh, I just realized a lot of the links in my writers resources posts are tumblr related and there's the chance many are/will be affected. I should probably try to go through an check but, ugh, 500 links.....

Currently, most of my free time is being taken up by Yuletide. I'm well behind where I was last year treat-wise, but last year's 14 main collection fics (including an 11k one) was, while not a complete fluke, was at least fairly unusual. I'm shooting for 8 this year, but only have half that finished. So few fandoms I already knew were requested this year. *sigh*

Anyway howdy howdy and how are you to everyone on DW/LJ, either new to the sites or people returning after tumblr's latest shenanigans or those of you who have been here all along.

I have to say, I'm finding this whole Tumblr thing a little bit exciting! I've never managed to suss out how Tumblr works so if loads of fandom folks come over here from Tumblr, that might invigorate fandom here a bit more, which might invigorate me!

tumblr is a lot of gifsets in my circles. Nice for the 'ooh that scene was great' kind of thing, but I never figured out really how to do that whole chatting thing. There's a lot of politics and outrage posts too which very much aren't my thing.

Hopefully lots of old and new people will start being active here, which would be GREAT!

If you're interested, you can load them into archive.org. What I've done in the past is add that specific page with links into the wayback machine, then while inside the wayback machine, open all the links in new tabs. If it's not already in the wayback machine, this gives a page that says "hey, this page is live on the internet, want to add it?" and you click yes. It's less c/p than adding each one manually.

Huh, I have checked wayback machine for links when the ones I have are no longer working, but I've never tried to add any. When I have some time and brainpower I might give that a try. Thanks.
