Memesy Wemsey

Because I am bored, it's meme time!

Tell me the title of a story I haven't written, details optional, and I'll give you a summary.  If you're really lucky, I might even write the story for you.

Feel free to be as specific to characters or fandoms as you wish.

absolutely. It's how he is with Gibbs but also you see snippets of it with how he would talk to the others- have you seen "Leap of Faith" it was so hard/awkward for Tony to thank McGee.. or when in S2 "Twilight" when Tony's feeling like crap having just returned- the others have to force him to eat/sleep etc- he won't admit how tired he is or whatnot

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 04:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think I've seen Leap Of Faith just yet, but I must have it somewhere. And I loved that about Twilight - and how gruff Gibbs was about the whole thing. But how clearly worried anyway.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
"Leap" is S5 E5. Some great Tim and tony interaction

I LOVED SWAK and Twilight. And all the episodes when Tony's in trouble and needs help. But in Twilight when Gibbs grabs the Chinese food container right out of Tim's hands and slams it onto Tony's desk with a terse "eat something"? *sigh* I get all mushy just thinking about it

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 04:23 pm (UTC)(link)
cool, I'll have to watch that :D

I loved SWAK and Twilight, too. Though I admit I never watched the end of Twilight and I refuse to do so. I don't deal well with death of fictional characters I like, so I'm not going to watch it happen *shrugs*

That scene? That was just sososo perfect. I loved that *flails happily*

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 04:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I can absolutely understand not wanting to watch it. it's *OMG* and *I've been gut punched*

I love when Gibbs gets all poppa bear protective of Tony

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I sort of want to evade all that. And I don't like death, so I'm not dealing with it when I have a choice, which in fiction and tv, I do. So, yeah. Not going to watch it.

I love the expression on his face in SWAK when he learns that Tony might have the plague and and and *falls over* It's so gorgeous.

oh god yes. And there are two wonderful (nearly 100% the same) interactions between Ducky and Gibbs about Tony. In "Missing" and "Chained" when they can't find Tony and Gibbs is all growly and Duck says "We'll find him Jethro" and Gibbs just has this lost and hurt look on his face and replies "are you asking me or telling me?"

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Isn't there a scene like that in Boxed In, too? When Ziva and Tony are missing and Ducky tells Gibbs "You'll find them".. I'm not entirely sure, but I think this conversation is one they have rather often - and Tony's always involved as the missing party. I love that.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't remember Boxed in that well- it's possible.

that episode bugged me because of the way the others are mean to Tony- with the dinner party and whatnot.

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 04:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I actually love quite a lot about that episode. More hints about Tony's past - that he took piano lessons and the teacher used to hit him over the knuckles (at least I think the last one is in the episode as well, but it might just be fanon, I can't quite remember).

The end bugged the hell out of me as well. Well, not really. It just broke my heart, AGAIN. 'cause I didn't get the impression that they knew what they were doing to Tony and that just goes to prove that they don't exactly know him very well or have bothered to look past the masks and that.. that's all kinds of sad :(

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
EXACTLY (about the ending) but, how could they *not* know?

I have a link to transcripts somewhere, I'm going to go see what they say about the piano lessons

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
found it!

TONY: How?
ZIVA: He tuned my piano.
TONY: I used to play piano.
ZIVA: But not anymore?
TONY: My mother forced me to take lessons from this woman who used to hit me with a ruler every time I made a mistake. I haven’t played since.
ZIVA: Were you any good?
TONY: Yeah, I actually was.

and you were right...
DUCKY: Well, I’ll know more when I get him back. You’ll find them, Jethro.
GIBBS: Is that a question or statement, Duck?

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 05:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know how they couldn't know, either. Maybe they chose to ignore it 'cause it's so much easier to believe that Tony is just a sometimes annoying frat-boy jock?

Yeah, that. I love how they zoom in on his knuckles when he says that and how sad he looks there. So gorgeous.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
probably- but still.. meanies...

sigh. Tony looks so- dejected I guess, when talking about that- like it was just another in a long list of things that sucked in his childhood but he accepted because what choice did he have?

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 05:28 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah, it doesn't exactly make it any better, does it? if anything, it makes it worse :(

yeah, he does. dejected is a good word for it. tony's childhood is a never-ending source of hurt!bunnies for me.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 05:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I REALLY want the writers to give us more to go on. A phone call to his dad. a drunken bit of exposition. SOMETHING more than these little asides and snippets of his past

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
On one hand, yeah, so do I. On the other hand, though, I really like the understated way with which they present us Tony's past. I think it makes it all even more painful.

And... doesn't it say anywhere that Tony's dad hit him at least once? I think it's hinted at or something. He used his dad's skiing-something to make a Halloween outfit out of it and "couldn't sit for a week after"? Not sure though. And I think we can take Tony's "He was too drunk to hurt anyone" from Chained at face-value. Well. If we add a "most of the time" to it, anyway.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 05:39 pm (UTC)(link)
it's in 4.06 "Witch hunt" that he says that.

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh. I think I need to watch that episode, if only to see the look on his face when he says that... I only read it on wikiquote, to be honest :D

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
if I remember right, he's got this sort of apologetic look on his face

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
awh! I think I know what I'll do tonight.. watch With Hunt. And maybe write, if I can wrap my head around it.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
let me know if I'm right, it's been awhile since I saw it

and YAY for writing!

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Will do *beams*

Yeah, writing is good. I'm going through withdrawal, haven't really written anything at all this month. Been busy studying *whines*

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
but... school is important

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I know.. and it's my final exams and after, I'll have half a year or so of doing nothing so I'll be able to write then. Still. I sort of want to write.
