Radio Play and Recs
A bit back I was discussing Babylon 5 with someone and they mentioned a slashy radio play the actors who play Londo and G'kar did years ago but didn't remember it much other than the fact it was weird so of course I tracked it down.
It's called "George And The Red Giant" and it stars Peter Jurasik (B5's Londo) and Andreas Katsulas (B5's G’Kar) as (and I'll quote the official summary here) "two New Yorkers from the 1990s who are trying to escape an alien world millions of years in the future. Further adding to their troubles, the two men have somehow been transformed into flying lemurs."

Or Wei Wuxian accidentally adopts a puppy and life instantly becomes a lot more complicated from there. (Canon compliant fic where poor WWX is trying to get over his fear of dogs while having a dog. Utterly delightful)
Professor Lan, Babysitter Extraordinaire by Eleanor_Fenyx (4k)
Summary Snippet: “Right! Okay! God this is so weird. A-Yuan this is Lan-laoshi, be good for him please, he’s very nice. I’ll come pick you up as soon as I’m done, okay?”
“Okay Baba,” A-Yuan says and then - so quickly it’s a surprise that his passing doesn’t make an audible swishing noise like a cartoon - Wei Wuxian darts into the lecture hall, leaving Lan Wangji alone with the scruffy bag and the not-nearly-as-scruffy toddler. (adorable Professor LWJ helping out WWX by watching A-Yuan modern AU fic)
Falling Til Four in the Morning by phnelt (5k)
Summary: The first time he finds the Mando station is an accident. He almost loses it, jerking his thumb on the dial he was slowly spinning to find viable frequencies. It takes some wiggling and some horrendous static but he gets back there, a clear AM signal coming through and some Lena Lim gently crooning while flutes warble in the background. It feels strange, almost, after months of only English, almost like he’s getting away with something. He stands there for a moment, thumb poised to scroll past, but the voice of the DJ comes on to introduce the song and Wei Ying is transfixed. Radio was invented for this man, he thinks. (short and sweet modern AU)
Meeting from a thousand miles away by Spodumene (25k)
Summary: Wherever you go, there you are. It's all about who goes with you. (A wonderfully sweet modern AU meet-cute where LWJ is a hotel reviewer and WWX a flight attendant and they fall in love)
The River Brought You Here by ChilianXianzi (12k)
Summary: When she found the boy by the side of the river, Zhou Jia knew that anyone who'd come for him is not to be trusted. Not with the dark purple fingerprints around his throat, the veritable map of lashes old and new upon his back. It's almost a blessing, she thinks, that the boy remembers none of the life that had treated him so cruelly. That he's free to just be A-Ying, in this small harbour town that he embraces so readily as his home. The day someone does come for him, she had not expected it to be the war hero Hanguang-Jun - Saying A-Ying name with such fervent hope before it turns into anguish as A-Ying fails to recognize him. (Canon divergent AU post fall of Lotus Pier where WWX's life is saved from dying after the choking incident by a rogue cultivator but his memories are gone. Amnesiac WWX feels very true and IC and still is active during Sunshot, but not by fighting but rather helping the common people. - note- not JC friendly)
The rug I was working on reached that 'big enough to be unwieldly' size so I haven't touched it in weeks. *Sigh* I really need to get back to it. But. Ugh. Annoying.
