Whoops there goes March
I packed away all the snow gear last week because of how warm it'd been and the fact spring had well and truly sprung so of course it's currently snowing (and actually *sticking*?!?!?! I may have to shovel tomorrow). Mother Nature, I am not impressed. It's like she knows when there's something I want to do (last snow was half-price candy day, tonight a local museum had free admittance but the roads are super slick so not going to drive unnecessarily).
Crafting-wise I haven't really touched the plastic bags rug, but I started several blankets using one kind of yarn I had in my stash (lionbrand's re-spun recycled yarn, 3 skeins of a dark grey and 3 of a deep red) but for all the patterns it crocheted up very small and I didn't like it so I frogged everything and pulled out a different yarn (which I have much more of, lionbrand's schitt's creek, that had a 6 skeins for $12 sale for black friday and I got in 4 colors) and like the new pattern. a sort of dropped shell two color repeat that I slammed together from different existing patterns I've seen. Tada:
I also made a few catnip toys for the cats. The mouse was a big hit but unfortunately has already disappeared under/behind some furniture somewhere (I'm hosting all my crafting pictures on discord so they will go poof in two weeks, just ask and I'll be happy to reupload them all)
Last month I finally got the gumption to join a few crafting discords but the ones I found skew young and I feel so very, very old in comparison (So much schooling talk! Not only am I out of school, my kids are out of school) If anyone knows of any crochet/fiber crafts/crafts in general discords that are 18+ or mostly populated by older folks, I'd appreciate an invite.
(Generally speaking, I've just been feeling so old in fannish circles lately. I just saw a blog where someone called tagged a post "this is your grandma talking" but they have their birth year in their bio and they aren't even 30. I know they probably are using grandma in jest but still. Come on.)

Wei Wuxian, on the other hand, is a weird but oddly charming guy who wanders around the cultivation world making fun of people's art and mooching food from sect leaders. It really upsets people to find out that they're the same person. (hilarious brand new time travel AU)
The Straightest Path by meyari (30k)
Summary: The moment of Xiongzhang’s death would live forever in Lan Zhan’s mind. He’d turned towards Lan Zhan, qiankun pouch holding the library in his hands. Then he’d gasped as arrows flew towards them both in a hail no one could survive. (absolutely brutal opening to this brand new canon divergent AU as the burning of the Cloud Recesses goes very differently, but then Lan Wangji takes charge and does so amazingly)
